Stop partnering with the lies.

This title is a point of realization that the Lord recently brought me to. I’ve spent so much time reflecting on past and current hardships and the common pattern was that every moment of doubt, insecurity, and fear was solely rooted in the fact that I had for a second believed the lie of the enemy over the truth that God has spoken over my life.

Let’s get to the basics about what it looks like to partner with lies.

  1. I am inadequate and unequipped

  2. I might fail so I’ll save myself the hurt and not step out in faith

  3. Might as well stay down since I’m already overwhelmed

  4. I’m too broken and nothing I do will fix me

These are very simple examples of what it looks like to forfeit the truth of God’s word over our lives. In the bible, it says that not only am I chosen and appointed but promises that it is according to the purpose of the one who works it all out according to His will (Ephesians 1:11). This verse has already demolished all 4 statements. If the word of God says He is my restorer, healer, close friend, teacher, lover, and the list goes on why would I take someone else's word over His.

What it looks like to partner with Gods word:

  1. Your grace is more than enough - 2 Corinthians 12:9

  2. I am more than a conquerer - Romans 8:37

  3. God is my help and will pick me up - Isaiah 41:10

  4. God is my healer and restorer - Psalm 147:3 & 34:18

In the moment of mind battles, we need to be able to speak the truth (God’s word and His promises) but we cannot do so if we don’t know what His word says. This is why it’s an absolute necessity to set aside time to read and meditate on our bibles. Unfortunately, this is the area we allow the most excuses to flow. You will always be busy, you will be tired, and every other reason you come up with. The truth is, you will make time for what you want to make time for and you will prioritize what matters most to you. Peace of mind in a moment of despair is just a mention of His name and a scripture memory away.

Ephesians 6 walks us through how to put on the full armor of God and my heart's cry today is that you would all come to see the authority and power we have in Jesus Christ and finally pick up the armor that is readily available to you. Imagine having access to something that would change your life and you just let it sit there collecting dust. God is so faithful to continue reminding us who He is.

Ephesians 6:17Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

Lord, I pray that we may see you in the fullness of who you are to us. May we choose to partner your truth in every situation. Thank you, Lord, that you are who you say you are and despite our moments of doubt, you are still faithful to meet us exactly where we are and see us through. Strengthen us to take all thoughts captive, command them to be obedient to you, and hold firm to your promises. May your words be written on our hearts and in our minds for the rest of our days. Amen!
